Parent Education Meetings

Informational and training meetings are for families of children and adults with Down syndrome, and are held nearly every month. Meetings cover a variety of topics spanning the life of individuals with Down syndrome.  If you have a topic you would like addressed, please contact education@dsadelaware.org

Meetings are generally held the third Friday of the month at AI duPont Hospital for Children 3rd floor classrooms from 6:30-8:30pm. Most often childcare is provided.

Check out our calendar of events for the next meeting.

Support Group Meetings for Parents/Guardians of Adults with Down syndrome

The Support Group was created in 2010 for the parents/siblings/guardians of our adults over 21 with Down syndrome.  The purpose of this group is for people to come together and share concerns about our aging population.  Speakers from different organizations, such as Easter Seals, Practice Without Pressure, The Levinson Group and Homes For Life help educate us about services available for our adults. In order to keep abreast of government issues that are ever changing, members of the Delaware Division of Developmental Disabilities are frequently asked to speak at our meetings and give us updates.

The Down Syndrome Association of Delaware Support Group meetings are held every other month at the Special Olympics office in Newark, Delaware. The meetings are normally held on the second Wednesday of the month at either 12 noon or 6:30pm.
