Kent County Car Seat Check

Any family who has a child with Down syndrome is invited to our Free Drive Through Car Seat Check at David E Robinson Elementary School!
This event is provided by DSADE mom Shawn Rohe, who is a Nationally Certified Child Passenger Safety Tech & Instructor with the DE Office of Highway Safety.
Stop by the school (1038 Briarbush Rd, Magnolia, DE 19962) anytime between 8:15-10:00am & 2-3:00pm.
Managing Our Bodies: Personal Hygiene Workshop
Wednesday, July 23 (Virtual)
Let’s learn about hygiene! Join this virtual session to learn how to manage our bodies better as we grow and change. In this workshop, we will cover:
- hygiene and why it matters
- managing odor, hair, acne, and bodily fluids
- privacy
- showering independently
- routine body checks
This workshop is open to all ages and genders. We encourage a parent or “safe person” to attend this workshop, as well. We will be meeting for one hour from 6:30-7:30 PM.

Relationships can be tricky, let’s navigate them together. Join us for a two-part series breaking down types of relationships and boundaries to help us all feel more comfortable and confident.
Workshops will be split into two groups: individuals with Down syndrome ages 12-18 and individuals with Down syndrome ages 18+. We encourage a parent or “safe person” to attend, as well. We will meet for one hour in the evening.
SibShops

Saturday, August 23 @ Nemours Children’s Hospital
Sibshops provide siblings of kids with disabilities with peer support and information in a lively, recreational setting. At SibShops, participants meet other siblings, talk about the ins-and-outs of having a sibling with support needs with others who get it, play games, explore how other siblings handle sticky situations, and more.
