About the ChristianaCare Teen & Adult Down Syndrome Clinic
The ChristianaCare Teen & Adult Down Syndrome Clinic at the Rocco A. Abessinio Family Wilmington Health Center is taking new patients. The clinic was co-founded by the now retired Dr. Lou Bartoshesky.
The clinic is not meant to be a primary care clinic but offers a comprehensive, interdisciplinary team to address the specific needs of adults with Down syndrome. The physician provider is Dr. Mary Stephens. We also have a social worker, nurse navigator and a medical assistant who is now part of our team and will be able to assist you with your needs specific to caring for an adult or teen with Down syndrome. The team works closely with the person with Down syndrome, their family, community resources, the primary care provider and other healthcare providers to help meet any unmet care needs and provide a comprehensive evaluation.
