Meet other moms and share experiences with each other while relaxing and having fun! DSADE will cover a two-night stay for any mom of a child (of any age) with Down syndrome who is a DSADE member. This event is for moms only!
Every attendee will have their own room/bathroom, unless you’d like to room with someone. Attendees must attend for both nights. Please email Susan Blessington at outreach@dsadelaware.org if you are willing to share a room with someone.
Retreat Details
- When: TBD
- Where: Scarborough Inn: 720 Ocean Ave|Ocean City, NJ 08226
- Who: Open to moms of individuals with Down syndrome of all ages
- Cost: The retreat is FREE, however we require a $50 refundable deposit (will be returned once you attend). Participants will be selected lottery-style—if you are not selected to attend the trip, your deposit will also be refunded.

What Activities Will There Be?
Anne DeCaire PMHNP-BC (beloved by our past attendees) will provide group sessions in meditation and journaling, along with optional private sessions. There are also activities within walking distance including yoga and mani pedis (both of these are not paid for by the DSA). The beach and shopping are also just two blocks from the Inn. Don’t worry—there will be plenty of time to relax too!
How Will Meals Work?
Friday:
- Happy Hour provided by the Inn
- Catered dinner at the Inn provided by the DSA of DE
Saturday:
- Breakfast provided at the Inn
- Lunch on your own
- Happy Hour provided by the Inn
- Saturday dinner: group reservation at Jon and Patty’s—everyone pays on their own via separate checks, we will handle the reservation. You may also choose to have dinner somewhere else or bring something to the Inn.
Sunday:
- Breakfast provided at the Inn
- Lunch on your own
